This is such a cute dress by Laura Ashley in 1980s.

The black velvet bodice is boned, fully lined and edged with the blue taffeta from the skirt.

The base of the bodice acts as a peplum and splits into a low point at the back, at the bottom of the zipped fastening.

The skirt is a two layer Rah Rah skirt made of taffeta, giving it an ace stiffened shape that sticks out and swishes as it moves.

The blue is iridescent, with a real mermaid tail quality.

It would look cute with a pair of heels or doc martens to grunge things up a bit.

It is approximately a small size 8
